Pre-Tournament News:

Returnees

Flushing Meadows attracts some great names to come back onto the Sim court. Earlier Top Ten players Slicer and Belgian Star Python signed up for the Grand Slam. Both still have some great skills, which they want to prove one more time. French Clay specialist and Mexico City Champion Jo_Tennis interrupted his summer vacations and participate at the US Open to show that he is good on the Hard Courts, too. Swedish Xbox Simulation top player Mecir72 booked a last minute flight this morning to prove his PC Sim skills. The fans are excited to see his actual shape. French Allrounder Romain-FER wants to take the last chance of the year to earn the big points, too. After having some PC problems, he now returned on the Center Court. As retired thought Shouter also came back.  The Press does not know how to rate Shouter's shape, but one thing is clear: The last Grand Slam is still an attraction for everyone, even for the forgotten ones.

Time for debutants

Not just old and retired people turn back for the US Open. Furthermore Flushing Meadows is a platform for newbies, who play their first time on the ITST Courts. The French top talent acedemy brings three new talents onto the Courts. Lukitout (0 Matches so far), Lieutnantpakito, who got some experiences until now and can show a bilance of 2-3 Wins and Slicymuncher playing his first matches ever on the tour. The Argentines send two of their talents into the race for best Newbies. Diegote and Fernando Gonzalez want to show their learned skills against the big names of the business. Not to forget is the Russian Connection. With Murea and GeO ITST has two known players. Now Elfis wants to manage the step into the rankings by a good result here as well. After the Retirement of the last Swiss Player Kiruken, now a new young gun appeared. Roget Federer signed up this morning and got the last ticket for this final Grand Slam.

Good luck to you guys and keep on training.

ROUND 1

Outsider favourites with some big trouble in next round

Two ambitious and favourised players Punisher and DaveCze played their first matches on Flushing Meadows. The crowd was excited to see the performances and shapes ofthose players. Punisher played an almost perfect match against Argentine Marek. Close to a bagle Marek showed just less from his dangerous net skills. Punisher was happy with his score (6-1 6-0 6-1) and wants to show more this year. Instead DaveCze had no scruples against debutant Slicymuncher (6-0 6-0 6-0). With his great volley skills (25 Volleywinners) he destroyed his opponent, who seemed not to have the right SIM skills yet with his just 2 volley winners. We must be warned before DaveCze's smashes on the net. Slicymuncher felt bad after his lost, but his talent almost "forces" him to keep on up. Bergkamptheone couldn't do such an easy step into the next round. He got with Mecir72 one of the underdog favourites of this tourney. After sleeping the first set Berg could fight himself back on the courts and equalized in sets (1-1). In a fantastic third set that ended in a tiebreak, Bergkamptheone grabbed the third set by some nice lobs and returns. This was the crucial point of the match which gave him the final self-confidence to bring this match home. (2-6 6-3 7-6 6-3). Mecir72 played great and had an extremely good service, which let just a few balls to break.

Sofi, Marwhit and Titou72 without problems

Sofi won against Seb07Doctor on Court number before Seb07Doctor could get into the match. After starting bad, he managed to stabilize his level and got better. But Sofi could sometimes surprise by some Slice Serves, which are allowed on the SIM tour. In the end Sofi booked his hotel for one more week and celebrated his 6-1 6-3 6-4. Two experienced SIM veterans had much less problems in their duels. Against Female specialist Mcfed Titou72 played his usual SIM, which was absolutely enough. Giving him almost a bagle (6-0 6-0 6-1) Titou72 tanked much self-confidence and 7 points for his ranking. He will now face the winner of Elargento vs. his doubles partner Suguru. Itailan allrounder Marwhit had to face a new player on ITST. German Freelander80 played his first match ever on the courts. "With more experience he can do better results", said Marwhit in the press conference. His happiness about his win (6-0 6-0 6-0) just lasted a while until he saw his next opponent: Mar7xion.

Sim veterans with an easy walk

Argentine Elargento had to face Suguru in his first round of the US Open. Suguru, known as a allrounder on the ITST courts, did not have his best day. He was almost without any chances against Elargento's big experience. He lost in just 55 minutes with 2-6 2-6 1-6. Elargento showed his strength and we will expect some more results like that. Derrida seemed to have more problems in his match against Euro_Boy_Bulgaria. On the windy court No. 11 Derrida first had to troubles to manage the conditions, but finally played a very good, nice-to-see tennis and won 6-1 6-16-2. Euro_Boy_Bulgaria showed littleparts of his potential and Derrida promised him a good future (So keep on up Euro). Jo_Tennis met another talent on the SIM Courts. His match against German InvoluntarySpeedyRun was not a self-walking. It was hard to break the German's service for Jo_Tennis after his long abstinence (1 1/2 Months). In the Post-match-conference Jo_Tennis admitted InvoluntarySpeedRun a great future "amoung the best players". So we will be excited to see him again.

Top players with a succesfull start

World's number 1 and dominating player on the hard courts ThierryH played his usual amazing tennis. His opponent Remjam hadn't any chance, although sometimes his nise skills lightened up. Nevertheless it was another bagle distributed by ThierryH. Dutch star Slicer signed up surprisingly for this event to prove his skills. He played against another comebacker, Shouter. Both well experienced showed a one of the interesting and tensed first round matches. Slicer finally could grab the win 6-4 7-6 6-2. The critical point of the match was the tiebreak in the 2nd set Slicer could fight succesfully for. In the 3rd set Shouter's spirit was obviously broken and so an comparable easy finish for Slicer. "It was an incredibly beautiful first round game.", said Steppl after his opening Grand Slam match. Beautiful but not easy. His opponent Kawa surprised SIM Oldie Steppl by his best performance of the season. Steppl was able to broke Kawa in the first two sets. In set 3 Kawa then managed his partly succes of the match and grabbed successfully a set. So everything ran into a fourth set. Kawa seemed to be too happy about his set win that he totally dismissed this final set. Steppl finally won 6-3 6-4 5-7 6-0, but this match demanded everything from him. We will se if he can improve in the next round. Congrats Kawa for a great match.

Python, DjAcp and D.Ornelas managed their reaching of next round

Former Top Ten player Python (Belgium) returned for this event onto the courts. His start was like it is written in the training booklets. In a fair and nice match without any highlights he defeated American Q.Reese straight in three sets 6-3 6-3 6-2. Reese can now concentrate more on his home courts, the Doubles tour and the Female Tour. Python have to face Italian Sofi in next round. DjAcp had a harder match against Sinfulin from Taiwan. Not because of the score, but he played against a good friend which is always tough. A tough opening set was the beginning of the end for Sinfulin. DjAcp grabbed it 7-5 and broke Sinfulin's whole fighting spirit so that he manage his win easily in the end with 7-5 6-1 6-0. D.Ornelas played on court No. 11 against Cardigan. a tough match as well for the Portugesian. Being down 1-3 and 2-4 he focused agains on his game. Showing all his skills he made a nice comeback and finally won 6-1 6-0 6-4. Hard beginning for him but he was satisfied with his result. In round 2 he will now meet Jo_Tennis, which will be a very interisting and high-class match.
